UH-1M "Huey" Gunship

Our Aircraft

UH-1M The UH-1 Iroquois or "Huey" as the aircraft became known was first introduced in 1958 as the Army's first turbine powered helicopter. It was designed to serve as a general utility aircraft carrying soldiers and supplies. The aircraft's capabilities and missions evolved as the Army rapidly developed air mobility tactics and capabilities. One of these major tactical developments was the arming of Army helicopters to provide tactical fire support for the "Sky Cavalry". The UH-1 "Huey" Gunship evolved through three model variations (B/C/M) and numerous combinations of rocket, machine gun, mini-gun and grenade launcher systems.
