Who Are We?

Founded in 1997, the Army Aviation Heritage Foundation is a non-profit all-volunteer private organization that has grown rapidly to include hundreds of veterans, their families, and many more hundreds of civilian supporters located throughout the United States and Europe.  From our headquarters in Atlanta and our other chapters located across the Country, we are able to conduct educational outreach programs throughout the United States in honor and recognition of our Nation’s Armed Forces.

The AAHF is not a part of the U.S. Army and receives no governmental funding assistance. Our funding comes entirely from donations made by private individuals and corporations. The AAHF is recognized by the IRS as a Section 501(c)(3) non-profit public education foundation. All donations made to support its activities are fully tax-deductible.

What We Do

The Army Aviation Heritage Foundation takes the legacy of our military, its people, and their aircraft to the American public and gives Americans an unprecedented opportunity to meet visible veterans and current military members and live their history of service and patriotism.  We accomplish our objectives through our air show presentation programs and a variety of educational and community support activities. Our three main air show programs are performed by SKY SOLDIERS - the AAHF’s professional air show program and demonstration team. This group is composed of veteran military aviators who have performed the same types of missions that the AAHF demonstrates multiple times during their military careers, many times in actual combat.

SKY SOLDIERS offers aerial demonstration shows that can be performed either individually or in combination to depict the evolution of modern Army Aviation.

1) The Vietnam "Air Cavalry" Combined Arms Team Program combines a minimum of 8 of the AAHF’s veteran Army helicopter and fixed-wing fleet with actual infantry assault teams to deliver a realistic and powerful portrayal of the use of Army Aviation in a typical AirCav troop action in Vietnam.

2)  The Attack Helicopter Demonstration Team combines 2 of the worlds "First Attack Helicopter", the "AH-1 Cobra, combined with 1 OH-6 "Loach" Observation "Scout" helicopter, demonstrating the unique power and agility of these military attack aircraft.

3) Huey Rides, AAHF maintains the largest fleet of helicopters for the purpose of providing a once in a lifetime opportunity, or perhaps a renewal flight for a veteran who had intimate knowledge of this "Icon" of the Vietnam War, the UH1H Huey.
