The Leadership organization was established using the best characteristics of civilian and military structures. In keeping with the professional standards of the Foundation, the senior leadership is populated with highly seasoned Military and Civilian Aviation professions with distinguished backgrounds.

A Board of Directors provides executive leadership. Board Members are elected by the membership for three-year terms. Candidates are individuals who have demonstrated competent leadership at levels necessary to establish effective foundation direction. Election ballots are mailed in advance of and then counted and announced at the January Annual Meeting.

The Board of Directors establishes policies and budgetary guideline. They elect the Chairman, Board of Directors and the Foundation President who also serves as the Chief Executive Officer. The Board of Directors typically meets a minimum of twice annually at the call of its Chairman.

A Board of Advisors provides consultation and advisory guidance to the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors elects its membership. Members are notables from the Military Services and Business Organizations along with individuals who jointly can enhance the effectiveness of the Foundation. Its members elect the Chairman, Board of Advisors. The Chairman of the Board of Directors determines the Board of Advisor meetings.

The President also services as the Foundation Chief Executive Officer. The President tenders his choice of Foundation Officers (Vice Presidents) to the Board of Directors for their approval. The President reports to the Chairman, Board of Directors.

The President is responsible for the day-to-day operation of all entities within the Foundation and full-filling the policies established by the Board of Directors. The President establishes the organizational structure of the foundation. He delegates responsibility and provides guidance and supervision to all entities of the Foundation to assure its success.

Vice Presidents (Officers) operate their designated functional areas in accordance with good military and business practices within guidelines established by the President. They report to the President.
